Supporting Your Menstrual Cycle — Naturally

cycle.jpg

At AOK Nutrition, we know how much your cycle can affect how you feel day to day - physically, mentally, and emotionally. If you're struggling with irregular periods, painful cycles, PMS, PCOS, endometriosis, or the rollercoaster of perimenopause, you're not alone  and you're in the right place !

We work with women just like you to gently rebalance hormones, reduce symptoms, and bring the body back into a rhythm that feels calm, predictable, and supported.

We don’t just treat symptoms - we listen to your story, look at the bigger picture (stress, sleep, diet, past health history), and create a plan that’s completely personalised to you !

How We Work ?

We use a mix of natural medicine, nutrition, and functional blood testing to help you understand what your body is telling you - and give it what it needs to thrive.

1. Listening to Your Story

Your cycle tells us so much about your overall health. When you work with us, we take the time to really understand what's been going on for you - from your symptoms and lifestyle to any past diagnoses or test results. Every woman’s body is different, so no two plans will ever be the same.

2. Blood Testing (Optional but Helpful)

Blood testing isn’t essential for everyone, but it can be incredibly helpful when it comes to figuring out what’s going on beneath the surface - especially around hormone balance, thyroid health, nutrient levels, and inflammation.

You can use bloods from your GP, book in to get them done in our clinic with a registered nurse, or we can refer you to a Randox clinic (with locations in Sandyford, Henry Street, Cork, Galway, and more). Results are usually back within 48–72 hours.

For hormonal issues, we recommend testing between Cycle Day 2–5 (with Day 1 being the first full day of your period) for the most accurate results.

3. Nutrition & Lifestyle Support

Food is the foundation of hormone health. We’ll help you make realistic, supportive changes to your diet that work with your lifestyle and your cycle. We also look at how you’re sleeping, managing stress, and moving your body — all key players in hormonal balance.

4. Herbal & Natural Medicine

We use a combination of high-quality supplements and custom-blended herbal medicine to support your body naturally and gently over time.

At AOK Nutrition, we stock over 300 individual herbs, and draw on both Western and Chinese herbal traditions. That means we can create completely individualised blends, made just for you — based on your cycle, your symptoms, and your stage of life.

Whether you're dealing with painful periods, PMS, hormonal acne, fatigue, or perimenopause symptoms — we tailor your formula to help restore balance and relieve what you’re struggling with.

Herbs can help with:

  • Hormone regulation

  • Liver detox & estrogen clearance

  • Stress, sleep & mood support

  • Pain & inflammation

  • Digestion & gut health

Alongside herbs, we may recommend targeted supplements like magnesium, B vitamins, zinc, omega-3s, or adaptogens — depending on what your body needs most.

Our goal is always to work with your body, not against it — supporting long-term healing rather than just masking symptoms.
