Pregnancy and Postpartum

Pregnancy and postpartum are two of the most transformative (and often overwhelming) chapters in a woman’s life — physically, emotionally, and hormonally. At AOK Nutrition, we’re here to support you through it all with realistic, personalised care that honours both your body and your experience.

Pregnancy Support

During pregnancy, your nutritional and hormonal needs change rapidly. We work with you to:

  • Support healthy hormone and thyroid functionMaintain optimal iron, B12, and vitamin D levels

  • Reduce common symptoms like fatigue, nausea, and constipation

  • Support blood sugar balance, digestion, and immune health

  • Provide safe, targeted supplementation for you and your baby

Whether you’re navigating your first trimester or heading into the final stretch, we’ll help you feel as strong, nourished, and supported as possible — without pressure or perfection.

We also offer supplement guidance (when safe and appropriate), and work closely with your existing maternity care to keep everything aligned.

Postpartum Support

I’ll be honest — I never realised just how little support there is for women in the postpartum period until I had my own baby. The focus so quickly shifts to the baby, and many mothers are left running on empty, physically and emotionally.

That’s why postpartum care has become a real passion of mine. I want you to feel held and supported, not just in the early days, but throughout your first year and beyond.

Postpartum Blood Testing

Pregnancy and postpartum are two of the most transformative (and often overwhelming) chapters in a woman’s life — physically, emotionally, and hormonally. At AOK Nutrition, we’re here to support you through it all with realistic, personalised care that honours both your body and your experience.

One of the most powerful ways to look after your health after birth is by staying on top of your blood work. So often, issues like fatigue, low mood, hair loss, anxiety, and poor recovery are dismissed as "just part of it" — when in fact, they’re signs that something’s off.

We recommend the following postpartum blood testing schedule to stay ahead of any deficiencies or imbalances:

  • 6 weeks postpartum (baseline check)

  • 3 months postpartum  (if previous levels were out of range)

  • 6 months postpartum

  • 12 months postpartum

We look at key markers like:

  • Iron, Ferritin, B12, Folate

  • Vitamin D

  • Thyroid function

  • Blood sugar, insulin

  • Inflammation (CRP)

  • Hormone levels (where needed)

These tests can be done in our clinic with a registered nurse, through your GP, or via referral to a Randox clinic.
