Easy Oat Bread Recipe

This bread tastes amazing and it is simple to make! Oats are such a good thing to have first thing in the morning as they are great for energy and also brilliant for calming the Nervous system i.e. helping us feeling calm and happy!

1 Slice of this bread is the equlivant to a small bowl of porridge- so it is a great alternative on the days you fancy something different, or if you are someone who can't quite stomach porridge!

Recipe

•500g natural yoghurt (1 tub) •360g porridge oats (approx. 2 tubs of oats) •2 tsp bread soda (bicarbonate of soda, not baking powder) •1/2 tsp salt •1 tbsp milk •1 tsp molasses-(optional) (mix the molasses and milk in a cup, add more milk if necessary) •1 cup of mixed seeds/nuts (75g crushed walnuts, 50g pumpkin seed, 25g sunflower seed, 15g chia/flaxseed) •1 egg (optional if find to be dry or add more milk)

Directions

  • Mix the dry ingredients together. (Oats, bread soda, salt, seeds/nuts). Add in the rest of the ingredients and mix well.

  • Place in a bread tin lined with greaseproof paper, cut a line down the centre

  • Place in a preheated oven at 180C for 50mins

  • Remove the bread and place back in the oven upside down for a further 10mins

  • Remove from the oven and allow to cool.

You can slice the bread and freeze it- it is also delicious toasted!
