Change in discharge (may be green, white or grey)

Foul smelling odor

And often - no symptoms at all!

It affects 30% of women and I see people ALL OF THE TIME with this- so don’t be freaked, you are not the only one my gal pal! 💕

Most women think that BV is caused by an infection of bacteria or yeast. When in actual fact it’s caused by an imbalance in the healthy vagina bacteria. The good guys are low, which gives any bad bacteria full reign!

The medical approach is to kill the bad guys with antibiotics but the issue here is that you also kill the goods guys too- which brings us back to the start again. This is why it’s so hard to clear and it comes back again and again. .

So how do we fix it? Well we need to work on repopulating our healthy vaginal bacteria- so to do this, we need to understand what can disrupt it;

High sugar diet

Poor gut health

Drugs (contraceptives)

Changes in PH (due to sex or using shower gels etc)

Tampons, the coil + pads can also make BV worse too.

With my own clients I would give probiotics (Merlak on my website) and herbs alongside a gut healing plan + blood sugar balancing nutrition plan. Of course antibiotics are necessary in some people but I believe that you need to do both approaches together if you want to shift it for good! .
